Located in Baltimore, Johns Hopkins Medicine International (JHI) facilitates the global expansion of the Johns Hopkins Medicine mission. JHI provides personalized, culturally appropriate care for patients traveling from outside Maryland and the United States, and for local patients with limited English proficiency. JHI also provides international services in hospital management, health care consulting and clinical education through strategic affiliations throughout the world.
Johns Hopkins Medicine International is seeking an International Marketing Project Manager. This position will report to the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications for Johns Hopkins Medicine International.
Responsibilities:
- Implementing, coordinating and monitoring comprehensive marketing strategies to increase the direct and downstream revenue base of all patient service lines within JHI
- Serving as a liaison and consultant in the implementation of marketing objectives
- Assessing and developing new programs and services
- Analyzing and evaluating marketing performance outcomes and recommending changes to optimize the organizations’ competitive position
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising or related field (a concentration in the international or healthcare fields highly desirable). Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing, advertising or closely related field.
- Top quality mastery of marketing including in-depth knowledge of product line marketing, health care preferred
- Specific knowledge of marketing principles and practices, market research and analysis, marketing communications and program development
- Knowledge of relevant cultural standards and global economic and political variables as well as international business referral sources both within United States (eg: embassies) and outside United States (eg: government agencies)
- Experience in customer relationship marketing
- Experience with complex medical tertiary care delivery systems or in broad-based international marketing preferred

Transplant Marketing Coordinator (9/22/11)

Under supervision of the Director of Physician Marketing and the Transplant Administrator, helps develop, plan and implement outreach clinical marketing programs for transplant services. This position utilizes direct marketing and outreach tools to encourage referrals to the service line. As well, you’ll assist physicians with the physical exams at dialysis center outreach clinics and conduct patient and professional staff education at dialysis centers.
Responsibilities:
- Defines the geographic demand for the transplant service line and the competitors in the market place.
- Participates in the development of the annual plan for the outreach marketing of transplant services using a combination of physician to physician call programs, educational programs, dialysis in-services, and managed care presentations.
- Conducts patient and/or professional staff education at dialysis centers.
- Assists physicians with patient physical exams at dialysis center outreach clinics.
- Coordinates the scheduling of laboratory testing for patients following outreach clinics and works with transplant coordinators to ensure UNOS listing.
- Implements annual plan with support from faculty and staff within the service line, the public affairs department, creative services, physician marketing and the office of managed care contracting.
- Monitors the market performance of the service line by gathering referral volume and patient geographic location data. Monitors the waiting list at regional transplant programs and the number of living donor transplants.
- Coordinates outreach strategies with the overall plans of the University of Maryland Medicine and capitalizes on the initiatives of the marketing department and the School of Medicine to promote market visibility and the image of the transplant program.
- Determines the need for various promotional and educational materials and provides distribution of promotional materials as assigned.
- Works with outside vendors to obtain funding for various marketing programs.
Qualifications:
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland is required.
- Two years of Transplant clinical experience is required.
- Familiarity with marketing tools and processes preferred.
- Demonstrated effectiveness as a multidisciplinary team member.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and follow through on assignments and/or projects. Ability to analyze and conceptually develop ideas and proposals.
- Ability to learn and use computer systems in order to manage patient information.
- Demonstrated/documented highly effective interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
